- Ask a Counselor -

At the Black Women’s Mental Health Institute, we believe that healing begins with honest conversation and access to knowledge.

That’s why we’ve created Ask a Counselor—a safe space where you can submit your questions about mental health, wellness, and navigating life’s challenges.

Whether you’re curious about stress management, coping with grief, navigating relationships, or finding culturally responsive support, our team of licensed counselors is here to listen and provide thoughtful, professional responses.

How It Works

  • Submit your question anonymously or with your name—whichever feels comfortable.

  • Our counselors review the submissions and provide answers rooted in compassion, cultural awareness, and evidence-based practices.

  • Responses are shared through our newsletter, blog, and community resources so others can learn and feel supported, too.

A Note

This platform is for general education and guidance, not a substitute for therapy or crisis support. If you are in crisis, please call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, available 24/7.

Your voice matters. Your questions matter. And together, we can build a community where mental health is nurtured, stigma is broken, and healing is possible.
