Clinician in Training
The Black Women's Mental Health Institute (BWMHI) Clinician-in-Training program supports graduate-level students, helping them move toward full licensure while increasing the number of diverse, culturally responsive mental health professionals. It offers mentorship and hands-on experience, focusing on equity and the needs of Black women and girls.

Black Women Mental Health
Black women face significant disparities in mental health care. Understanding why these differences occur requires an appreciation for not only the multiple roles that Black women play in society but also for the racial and social injustices they have historically faced.

Black Mental Health
A new national report reveals that 45.9 million American adults aged 18 or older, or 20 percent of this age group, experienced mental illness, but the illness disproportionately targets African Americans.

Mental Health Data and Statistics
Information on access to mental health and mental illness (MH/MI) surveillance data sources is provided on various MH/MI topics. Data sources include the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS), the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), and the National Health Interview Survey (NHIS). Relevant statistics are also presented.
